TESTING SPECIFICS
PCR TESTING: BowTie Medical uses the Accula SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR test to detect the presence of Coronavirus antigens in nasal swabs. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared that these rapid RT-PCR tests are FDA Authorized under an EUA and can be performed under BowTie’s CLIA Certificate of Waiver.
ANTIGEN TESTING: BowTie Medical uses a BD Veritor™ SARS-CoV2 detection kit that is a chromatographic immunoassay for the direct and qualitative detection of Coronavirus antigens in nasal swabs. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared that these tests are FDA Authorized under an EUA and can be performed under BowTie’s CLIA Certificate of Waiver.
ANTIBODY TESTING: BowTie Medical uses the Healgen Covid-19 Antibody test that utilizes lateral flow technology for the detection of both anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies. The presence of antibodies indicates an individual may have had previous exposure to COVID-19, with or without symptoms. Recent research indicate that these antibodies probably provide some immunity to the COVID-19 virus. Currently there is not enough evidence to know how long the antibodies last or to what extent past infection with the virus helps protect you from getting another infection.
